Brian's getting a suprise when he wakes up! flowers and his favorite cookies. I've been driving him crazy with wedding stuff lately so he deserves it. :)

My friend Hannah gave me this postcard today. We both collect black and white photography postcards, and I'm especially fond of the sappy ones. This one is "The Kiss" by Robert Doisneau.

Played Hookey Today...

I just couldn't go to work today... it was just too nice outside! So I called in to work and took the day off. I got Brian to go all over town with me. It was so nice to spend the day with him since we don't have the same days off. We started off by going to the flea market, I hadn't gone to one in ages. I remember going with my dad to the local flea market all the time when I was a kid.

After that we got my oil changed and went through the carwash (and stole a few kisses when the car was covered in suds and no one could see in). Then we went to the mall and then to meet Brian's dad at the shooting range. I've only gone shooting once before but I did pretty darn good. Those shots are from over 20 feet away (that's far for me!) I wouldn't mind having my own gun someday, maybe a cute pink revolver ;)

After that we ate dinner at Red Robin and went to Barnes and Noble, where I got a couple new books. I went ahead and read all of The Handmaids Tale. Good book, unsatisfying ending. Oh well hopefully the next one will be a little better.

I am a bowling goddess!

...ok maybe not. Mark invited me to go bowling with him and a friend tonight, and I forgot how BAD of a bowler I actually am. That's probably why I haven't done it in 8 years or more.

I guess I didn't do too bad, my first game was 57, second 69 and third 49 (my arm was tired) I had either strikes or gutterbals, go figure. I sucked compared to Mark and his friend but I still had fun.

teacups and flowergirl dresses

I drove to Burgaw today to see a florist, she was great and gave me a great price. She's this little old lady in a tiny shop and kept calling me "honey" the whole time. :) She was soo sweet. I'm really excited about the flowers now. She's also got the CUTEST mini teacups that I can get for the wedding favors.
Then I went to a local dress store to look at flowergirl dresses, they have to cuteset stuff! I can't wait to see Brian's neice in cute dress with a wreath of flowers on her head. His nephew will be so handsome as the ringbearer too, I want to find a really nice ring pillow for him to carry.
I'm really getting excited about planning the wedding, I don't have half the problems some couples have. I watch the wedding shows "Bridezillas" and "Whose Wedding is it Anyway" and some brides are just nuts. I know exactly what I want, how much I want (and don't want) to spend, but I won't drive my family and bridal party nuts to get it all. I'm also really lucky that my family and Brian's family are so great. No crazy mothers or dissagreable bridesmaids, I'm not even worried about the groomsman. I'm getting a professional to coordinate the rehersal and the wedding/reception so I won't have to stress out the day off. All I have to do is get everything done on my own time and I'm set. :)

Goin out to dinner again, at Rockin Robin this time. Never ate here before, hope it's good. I just love this carosel horse by our table, I wish I had one in my house.

Tux fitting and dinner

Here's the tux we're getting for Brian and the groomsmen, classy and old fashioned.
Brian getting measured, it looks like the lady's trying to choke him, ha.
Self portrait in the mirror at the tux place.

Dinner afterwards at Macaroni Grill. It was really good, I had the Chicken Marsalla and Brian had the 9 layer Lasagna. I love having time to spend with Brian like this, our schedules are usually pretty opposite but whenever we do have quality time like this, it's great.

We went to Books a Million after that, I could spend hours at that place. I picked up yet another wedding magazine, but hey, it's the only time in my life I can justify buying them. Every single one that comes out..... ha.

Eating dinner at Macaroni Grill. They have paper on the tables a and some crayons so Brian got creative. :) He just got fitted for his tux, he's going to look so handsome! I took a few pics of him getting his measurements I'll post them later.

The Ivy Cottage

Here's the tea cups and plates I bought at Ivy Cottage after the Azalea Festival, I already had the teapot and the tray was my either my grandmother's or great grandmother's I can't remember which. Went to Port City Java after the festival, got a blackbery italian creme soda, yum.
A carriage outside of the Ivy Cottage store.

I so wanted this couch, but at $650 it's stayin at the store.

I loved that store, they have 3 buildings of furniture, home decor and art.

Azalea Festival Pics

The verizon booth, everyone was checking it out. People have been waiting a long time for the verizon stores to open here in Wilmington.

These kids were so cute, they were dancing to traditional mexican music.

This is one of my favorite restaurants downtown, Riverboad Landing.
I SO wanted these shoes.... the price? $205. So in the store they stayed.
I took this one from the parking deck. I love downtown architecture.

I didn't stay long but it was a really nice festival, I'm glad a took the day off to go.

I just got the cutest teacups and plates at Ivy Cottage! The 2 teacups match and the plates are all different, I'm going for the eclectic country tea party look, now all I need is a white linen tablecloth and I'll be set.

At the Azalea Festival! I go every year I love it. will post more pics later....

ah popcorn, dinner of champions. Brian was tired and fell asleep before I got home so this is what I'm reduced to... I really can't live without that man and his cooking. I should be doing the dishes now but I can't clean without propper nourishment, right? Tomorrow I'm going to try to get up early enough to check out the Ivy Cottage store, I heard they've got alot of interesing stuff. Maybe I can find some cheap stuff for the new apt. I'm really into the shabby chic style but most of my stuff is just plain borring... I guess I'll see what I can come up with.

wedding cake ideas...

I took these a while ago trying to get cake decoration ideas... I still have to give the baker a final design. Ugh, it's all the little things that pile up when you're planning your wedding. I love the last pic, so funny. :)

dinner and makeup

A couple pics of the outside of Hiro Japanese Steakhouse, I mean to take pics of our food and the chef but I totally forgot. I was too busy cuddling on Brian anyway. ;) After dinner I always feel like shopping, don't know why. So I stopped by Ulta, a new makeup store in Mayfaire. I love this store because they have everything from the cheap makeup brands to the expensive ones. They also have perfume, hair care products and a salon. After that I loitered around Barnes and Noble for a while till they closed. I could spend hours at that place.
